Yeah, there's no way to take the holidays with out my good friend Pinot Noir.

I've been making soups and stews with turkey stock I made from the T-giving turkey and froze. And steak. And a lot of salad and hard boiled eggs. And pasta sauce from tomatoes rather than a can... Its shockingly easy.

I totally caved at your party though and ate two of those candy cane cookies. They were amazing.

What kinds of stuff are you making from scratch? Sounds interesting.

And I definitely know that family + holidays = "HOLY CRAP I NEED A DRINK OR TEN!!!"

I just don't let myself eat or buy anything that has wheat or sugar in it. I've started making a lot of stuff from scratch. And I let myself cheat all over on Thanksgiving.

Once you start finding out about what types of things are in preprocessed foods and where those ingredients come from, it becomes easier to just put it back.

I made some rice penne last night... it was.... well. It was a good medium for the sauce. I'll leave it at that.

I'm not becoming a dirty hippie! I just have some health issues that I'm trying to sort out. I'll be back on the booze at Christmas. I have to... I'm going to spend a week with my family.

I wouldn't be able to cut out gluten, sugar AND booze unless it was for a medical emergency. How'd you do it?

Lately I've been munching on gluten-free pasta. I'm always under-or over-cooking it, but it's great with green beans, garlic and some parmesan cheese.

Mmmmm...fooooood...
